Day 2: Where in the Head is the Tumor?

Tillery's tumor is in the Frontal Lobe.

Two things on the list of things that the frontal lobe controls that were big indicators to us that Tillery had a problem were movement and mood.

Before diagnosis, Tillery was regressing in her physical development and she cried all the time. Her tumor is bi-hemispherical, meaning it crosses both the left and right sides of her head but it's closer to the left side, which is why tumor debulking surgery happens on the left side.

The reason her tumor was able to grow for as long as it did was because she still had her soft spot at the top of her head. It allowed her head to grow and the tumor even swelled out of the soft spot on top.

The Tillery pics below are from the night we first arrived in Cincinnati and you can see how pronounced her forehead was and a picture of the scar line following her tumor debulking surgery on October 2, 2014.
