Luke has slept on the couch in the waiting room while Tillery was in surgery and FaceTime'd with her when she was in the PICU. He growls at boys who get too close to her and cries when he sees her get a finger stick. He compliments her on her hat when her head is bandaged and the way she is making progress with walking. He has sold lemonade for cancer research and collected tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
Luke has had to be strong as we've run off from him to ride in an ambulance or to meet one at the emergency room. He's spent more time visiting the hospital and away from his mom and sister than any kid should. He's Tillery's biggest encourager and inspiration to walk independently. He doesn't notice any of her delays, only seeing her as his sister and best friend.
