9/2 – Peyton B.

We learned about Peyton’s story about a month into our own childhood cancer battle. Peyton is a year older than Tillery and was diagnosed with a brain tumor just a few weeks after her. Peyton has an Anaplastic Ependymoma grade 3 and she’s had numerous surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy. Peyton has been amazingly strong and fought against impossible odds for a very long time. Unfortunately, last Wednesday, her mother made this post on her Facebook page.

“This is not the post I want to write.
This is not the reality I want to live in.
This is taking everything I have in me to type this out.
After almost 3 years of fighting this awful, unfair disease called cancer, we have run out of options, both surgical and medicinal.
Today, we are taking Peyton home and will begin Hospice care.
This is all I can get out for the moment. I will post again or have someone post for me in the next few days when we know a little more about what’s to come.
Our hearts are broken.
Please keep Peyton and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers.”
