Day 10: 1 in 3

We are 1/3 of the way through May - Brain Tumor Awareness Month. 1/3 is also the number of children diagnosed with a brain tumor who will not survive.

Those are names of kids we know with brain tumors. 3 of those children have passed away. Another 5 of them are terminal. 2 are currently in the hospital for scans to see if the warning signs their parents are seeing are signs of the end.

These numbers are not okay! This is 2016! These survival rates have not improved in 40 years! That means that my child's chances of survival are the same as a child diagnosed in 1976. Let that sink in!
